TFT Goes Into the Arcane
Check out how Teamfight Tactics lets you relive, rewrite, and replay the events of Arcane.
Create your team of Chem-Barons and Enforcers, Firelights and the Black Rose, or even past and present versions of your favorite characters with TFT’s latest set, Into the Arcane, releasing November 20th with Patch 14.23! The new set brings Arcane units alongside a new mechanic, the Anomaly, which will transform whichever champion you choose with a permanent buff or something entirely unique.
The new set features a completely refreshed roster with new playable units, hundreds of strategic Augments, and an array of Arcane-themed cosmetics. It’s a lot to take in, but don't worry—whether you're a seasoned TFT player or new to the game, the best way to experience the magic of Arcane is to dive into a game on November 20th and discover it all firsthand!
A NEW ROSTER FROM ARCANE AND BEYOND!
With Into the Arcane, TFT brings a whole new roster of playable characters, mixing heroes and villains from Arcane and other corners of Runeterra. Expect to encounter more than 12 familiar faces from the show, alongside debuts like Vander, Renni, Loris, Maddie, and Sevika. These characters span across 26 different traits, allowing for countless strategic combinations. Whether you want to focus your lineup on Arcane favorites or mix things up with other Runeterran locals, there’s a place to rewrite, replay, or just get top four with Into the Arcane.
As with any set of TFT, you’re going to want to assemble a team to fight, tactically, by mixing and matching different units to create trait combinations while starring those units up (collecting 3 of a kind) and equipping them with powerful items. With Into the Arcane there are a few traits that’ll be familiar to Arcane enthusiasts; let’s check some of them out.
Field Enforcers like Steb, Maddie, Camille, Loris, Twisted Fate, Vi and Caitlyn will gain shields, increased damage, and take down WANTED! Enemies to grant your allies Attack Speed. Add more Enforcers to strengthen the bonuses, and make an Enforcer out of any unit with an Enforcer Emblem (imagine Jinx as an Enforcer 💀)!
Chem-Baron is another deeply Arcane trait for the players who are okay with risking it all to build a better Zaun or get first in a lobby… With Chem-Baron, you’ll accumulate Shimmer, a special resource gained through early losses. Use it to purchase illegal and powerful items from the Black Market, giving your Chem-Barons a significant edge. Cash in your accumulated Shimmer, equip your Chem-Barons with powerful items and turn your loss streak into a Chem-Boss victory streak. The Chem-Barons are composed of Arcane characters like: Singed, Smeech, Renni, Silco, Sevika, and Zaun add-in, Renata Glasc. Their rarest and strongest unit, 5-cost Sevika, is a bit of a risky unit herself, as she randomly rotates between different abilities and mods, thanks to the trusty arm Jinx provided her.
These are just 2 of the over 20 traits in the set, so be sure to try them out alongside other Arcane-themed ones like Black Rose, Family, Firelight, and more! Check out more of these as we continue releasing information from our TFT social media channels, or just hop in a game on November 20th!
SHAPE FATE WITH THE ANOMALY
With a new set comes a new mechanic, a shift in rules that match the set’s theme. For Into the Arcane, we’ve got the Anomaly. With the Anomaly you’ll decide who enters and how they’ll permanently change. There are 60 different Anomaly effects that you can roll through for 1 gold a piece once the Anomaly appears on Stage 4-6, pretty late in the game. Be careful about your choice here as it’s a permanent and one-time decision.
Anomaly effects vary widely, empowering units to be tankier, create copies of themselves, leap to the enemy backline at the start of combat, gain damage based on your missing player Health, freeze their foes in place, or even shoot lasers from their eyes.
INTO THE ARCANE, WITH STYLE
No new set is complete without fresh customization options! Into the Arcane debuts a new Tactician type (player avatar) to TFT: Champions Unbound, starting with Arcane Jinx Unbound. Available via Treasure Realms, and in the Rotating Shop for a limited time for 10 Mythic Medallions, Arcane Jinx Unbound has her own Splash, Emotes, and Finisher animation that’ll take you back to the climactic moments of season one any time you eliminate a player from the game.
There’s a new Arcane-themed arena as well. Down to The Last Drop is our love letter to the setting of Arcane, taking you back to a nostalgic and homey Last Drop before it evolves as you progress through the game. Down to The Last Drop is also available as a drop from Treasure Realms or via the Rotating Shop for a limited time.
Into the Arcane also brings more Chibis to the Convergence. Chibis are the adorable, youthful, and energetic versions of a champion. Chibi Arcane Caitlyn, Chibi Arcane Vi, Chibi Firelight Ekko, and Chibi Prestige Arcane Superfan Annie are all joining with our release patch, 14.23, for a limited time via Treasure Realms and/or the Rotating Shop. They’ll all have custom Finisher animations, emotes, and splash in adorable (or mischievous) Chibi style! Be sure to check them out there!
Last but not least is the Into the Arcane Pass. Everyone will start out with the free version of the Pass, which will act as your guide to the streets, sewers, and bridges (read: cosmetics) of the set. If you want to get even more from the Pass, you can upgrade it to the Pass+ for 1295 RP. The full Pass+ will grant you access to all the free rewards plus bonus rewards like Coven Shork, Arcane Rio, new Booms, and a new arena that’ll take you back to the bridge where it all began. You can always wait to see how far you can get on the free version of the Pass before upgrading to claim all the rewards you’ve unlocked along the way.
