The legends have arrived—and new lore is ready to be written. From March 27–29, the history books of Runeterra will open once again as the world’s top 40 tacticians compete for the ultimate title at the Tactician’s Crown.

After historic performances on the TFT Pro Circuit, epic Regional Finals showdowns, and grueling runs through Trials, Cups, and Ladders, it all comes down to this. One of our biggest sets will reach its epic conclusion as we crown the best player in Lore & Legends. Get ready for the next global showdown!

Tactician’s Crown Overview

The Lore & Legends Tactician’s Crown, taking place March 27–29, will feature the top 40 players from the four competitive regions: AMER, EMEA, APAC, CN. Players from APAC and CN will compete live at a venue in Guangzhou.

Here’s how the 40 slots are allocated:

TFT Pro Circuit (15 Slots)

  • 4 players from TPC Shurima Cup (each region)

  • 4 players from TPC Bilgewater Cup

  • 4 players from TPC Demacia Cup (each region)

  • 3 players from the TPC Set 16 Pro Points Ladder (AMER, EMEA, APAC)

Regional Finals Slots (25 Slots) - Follow the Competition: March 6-8 & March 13-15

  • APAC – 7

  • CN – 8

  • AMER – 5* 

  • EMEA – 5

Total: 40 Players

*After the Lore & Legends TFT Pro Circuit, the final slot allocation per region is updated, with AMER having three additional slots from Regional Finals:

Prize Pool

Competitors will battle for their share of the $470,000 USD total prize pool. The legend who claims 1st place will take home $150,000 USD, the Tactician’s Crown, and the prestigious Lore & Legends World Champion title.

Event Format

Points Distribution Per Game: Players earn points each game based on placement, 1st place earns 8 points, 8th place earns 1 point.

  • 1st: 8 points

  • 2nd: 7 points

  • 3rd: 6 points

  • 4th: 5 points

  • 5th: 4 points

  • 6th: 3 points

  • 7th: 2 points

  • 8th: 1 point

Starting Lobbies: The 40 qualified players will be distributed into starting lobbies using a snake draft selection process.


Day 1 - Round 1

  • 40 players split into 5 starting lobbies

  • 6 games played total

  • Lobbies reshuffle every 2 games based on total points

After Game 6:

  • Top 32 advance to Day 2

  • Bottom 8 are eliminated


Day 2 - Round 2

  • Points from Day 1 carry over

  • 32 players → 4 lobbies → 2 games

  • Top 24 advance, bottom 8 eliminated

Day 2 - Round 3

  • 24 players → 3 lobbies → 2 games

  • Top 16 advance, bottom 8 eliminated

Day 2 - Round 4

  • 16 players → 2 lobbies → 2 games

After Round 4

  • Top 4 in total cumulative points (Day 1 + Day 2) advance directly to the Finals

  • Bottom 4 are eliminated

  • Players ranked 5th–12th advance to Round 5

Day 2 - Round 5

  • 8 players (5th–12th) compete in 1 game

Top 4 in total cumulative points (Day 1 + Day 2) advance to the Grand Final


Day 3 - Grand Final – Checkmate Format

The Grand Final will use the Checkmate Format: The first player to reach 20 points and then secure a first-place finish will be crowned the Lore & Legends Champion.
