THE FUTURE OF TEAMFIGHT TACTICS EVENTS IN EMEA
Greetings, strategists! If you're someone who constantly seeks synergies, is fascinated by hexagons, and loves sharing your passion for the game, we have great news. Riot Games is launching a new operational framework in the EMEA region for 2026, aiming to structure and strengthen both the competitive scene and community events for Teamfight Tactics.
In this article, you will find the new framework that divides the ecosystem into three main categories, the application schedule for upcoming sets, and the official process for validating and registering your events. Below, you'll find all the necessary information to be part of this circuit.
TFT COMMUNITY EVENTS & TFT MAJORS
At Riot Games, we have always valued and respected the efforts of communities that are passionate about our games. Your stories inspire us, and we know how important it is to give you the right tools so you can take your passion beyond the screen.
We created TFT Community Events and TFT Majors, with the intention of having a thriving community during each Set, enabling participation, and celebrating TFT fandom in EMEA. All within an organized framework that will combine online activities, community events, and local celebrations, with Riot providing support in various ways. We will share more details on this in the near future. To organize these initiatives, we have structured the ecosystem into three clear levels:
TFT COMMUNITY EVENTS
Community Events are the foundation of our ecosystem and where it all begins. Diversity is their main identity, so if you are a content creator, tournament organizer, or manage an established community (Discord, TFT Clubs, etc.), this is your place. These can be two types of events:
Online activities, including formats such as set revivals or double-up events
In-person gatherings, focused on bringing players together through physical meetups and community-driven activities.
At the end of the day, no matter the format, Community Events are about getting people together and having a good time.
Some key requirements are:
As organizers, you must ensure the activity is live streamed with, at least, a three (3) hour coverage on your main channel, in addition to creating clips or video summaries to make sure the TFT community knows about it.
We want experiences that make playing with friends fun and entertaining, and that invite players and communities to get involved. This could be through missions, challenges, or social moments like watch parties, contests, or trivia.
TFT MINORS
When a community event steps up to a higher competitive level, it becomes a TFT Minor, with competition at its core. This category is aimed at content creators, teams, or organizations with strong local reach and experience in event management. The main format involves organizing the Official Qualifier for the TFT Major (in those sets where a Major is scheduled to take place). This event should not be pure competition alone: it is essential to include community activities such as beginner zones, meet-and-greets with professional players, mini-competitions, or other game-related activities.
For this first season, TFT Minors will be available exclusively in France, Spain, Germany, and Poland, limited to one TFT Minor per country per Set. Our goal is to find the best local partners to grow the competitive scene in these key regions.
As an essential requirement, it is necessary to partner with one or several content creators, whose channel will serve as the official broadcasting platform for the event.
TFT MAJORS
Finally, we introduce the crown jewel of regional community competition. TFT Majors are large-scale regional in-person events, managed by a professional Tournament Organizer. These events serve as the ultimate meeting point to represent and unite the TFT community under one roof.
Unlike the previously described events, their frequency is much more exclusive, limited to one event per Set in EMEA. It is important to note that during the Set prior to the TFT Open, no TFT Major will be held, reserving the calendar for the highest global competition. The first major milestone for this category will take place at the end of Set 17.
These events feature top-level competitive activity that directly connects the winners to the TFT Open, serving as a bridge to the professional ecosystem and the largest in-person celebration.
We will soon announce the location and the selected partner to host this major competitive milestone, where the community can experience TFT to its fullest.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We know organizing an event can raise many questions, especially when navigating rules and formats. To help you have everything under control before submitting your proposal, we have compiled and answered the most common questions based on our official Community Guidelines:
What type of event can I organize?
You have complete freedom to be creative! You can do anything from small local tournaments in your neighborhood to large-scale events in palaces or convention centers. We accept all types of formats: in-person (LAN), online competitions, open to the general public or closed for a specific community. The most important thing is that you always respect the community rules and TFT's sportsmanship values.
What should I avoid doing as a Community Event organizer?
We expect all organizers to act in good faith and maintain the community's positive spirit. This means fulfilling promises made to players and partners, especially when prizes or money are involved. Making false promises or acting in bad faith will not be tolerated, and Riot reserves the right to intervene, which could lead to event cancellation if irregularities are detected.
Can I charge an entrance fee or have sponsors?
Yes, you can do both. We understand that organizing a quality event involves significant costs, and we want it to be sustainable for you. We impose no monetary limits on prize pools or sponsorship agreements you may secure. However, we strongly recommend that if you charge an entrance fee, the price is reasonable and ensure attendees receive a fair and valuable experience in return.
Where can I broadcast my tournament?
Anywhere! You have complete freedom to broadcast your event on the streaming platform of your choice, be it Twitch, YouTube, Kick, etc. The only important restriction is that you cannot broadcast it via linear television (traditional TV channels). Other than that, the digital stage is all yours!
Can Riot use my event?
Yes, because we love showcasing the amazing things the TFT community does. By organizing an event under these guidelines, you give us permission to share your event to support TFT and its community. This could include displaying, adapting, and using highlights or other footage from your tournament on Riot's and its partners' channels as well as using the event to promote new TFT content.
Can I use TFT logos?
Yes, we want your event to look official and professional. You can use all materials included in our community asset kit to promote your tournament on social media and posters. However, it is important to clarify that you are not permitted to use the Riot Games corporate logo or imply in your communications that Riot is directly involved in organizing or managing the event, beyond the institutional support we provide through this program.
Are there prohibited sponsors?
Yes, to maintain a safe environment aligned with our values, there are certain sponsor categories you cannot partner with. You must avoid any agreements with brands related to:
Gambling, casinos, sports betting houses, or fantasy sports.
Cryptocurrencies, NFTs, or unregulated financial markets.
Alcohol, tobacco, derived products, or drugs (including CBD products).
Firearms or ammunition.
Political campaigns or religious entities.
Adult content or pornography.
I represent a corporate brand or a national government. Can I use these guidelines to organize a community tournament?
Generally, this type of organization requires special and explicit permission. If you represent a corporate brand, public institution, or government, you cannot automatically use this general license without first speaking with us. Instead, you must fill out the mandatory application form (password: tftsubmitevent) to get in direct contact with us, so we can evaluate your case and grant you the relevant permission before proceeding.
What does this information allow me to do in terms of a formal license?
As long as you follow all the guidelines described here, as well as our Terms of Service, and receive confirmation from Riot Games that everything is correct, Riot Games, Inc. grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable, revocable, and limited license to organize and operate a TFT community event. Please note that we reserve the right to take action or shut down any competition at any time if we decide it violates these guidelines, our values, or makes inappropriate use of our intellectual property.
Remember, this is just the beginning. TFT Community Events represent the purest and most honest experience of living your passion for the game, and this new framework is our open invitation for you to leave your mark on EMEA's history. We want to build this future with you, identifying and supporting every community, creator, and organizer that makes this game great. Diversity is our identity, and competition is our DNA, so whether your goal is social or competitive, we need you all to fuel this celebration engine. The board is set, the strategies defined... Now it's your turn to make your move and make history in 2026!
