Cyber City Tactician’s Crown Announcement

Details on event dates, format, prize pool, and more.

This July 11-13, the neon lights of Cyber City will blaze brighter than ever as the top 40 players from around the world converge for the ultimate showdown. After months of fierce battles and rising stars across pan-regional competitions, the stage will be set for one final turf war. Here are the initial details for the next global event.

Tactician’s Crown Info

The Cyber City Tactician’s Crown will take place July 11-13, bringing together the top 40 players from our 4 pan-regions.

Seeds

Based on the results of the Into the Arcane Tactician’s Crown, here are the number of players per Pan-Region:

  • APAC
    • Players: 11
    • +1 for Regional Performance
  • CN
    • Players: 10
  • AMER
    • Players: 10
    • +1 for TC Winner, +1 for Regional Performance
  • EMEA
    • Players: 9
    • +1 for Regional Performance
  • 40 total players

After three days of competition, one player will take home the Tactician’s Crown, $150K USD, and become the Cyber City Champion. Starting with Set 15, the method for determining the allocation of seeds per pan-region will be updated - stay tuned for more details closer to the Tactician’s Crown!

Prize Pool

Players will be competing for their share of the $470K USD total prize pool. Check out the breakdown below:

Event Format

Points

Points earned throughout the event will be awarded for each player based on the results of each game: 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 (ie: first place wins 8 points, eighth place wins 1 point).

Starting Lobbies

The top 40 players will be split into starting lobbies based on a snake draft selection process.

Event Schedule

Day 1

  • Round 1
    • 40 players will be drawn into their 5 starting lobbies and play 6 games total
    • The lobbies will shuffle after every 2 games; lobbies will be shuffled based on the total points earned throughout the day
    • After Game 6, the top 32 players will advance to Day 2, and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

Day 2

  • Round 2
    • Players retain their points from Day 1
    • 32 players will be split into 4 lobbies and play 2 games
    • After Game 2, the top 24 players will advance and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated
  • Round 3
    • 24 players will be split into 3 lobbies and play 2 games
    • After Game 4, the top 16 players will advance and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated
  • Round 4
    • 16 players will be split into 2 lobbies and play 2 games
    • After Round 4, the top 4 players in Total Points across Day 1 & 2 will advance to the Finals and the bottom 4 Players will be eliminated
    • The 5th-12th place players in Total Points across Day 1&2 will advance to Round 5
  • Round 5
    • 8 players will play 1 game
    • The top 4 players in Total Points across Day 1&2 will advance to the Grand Final

Grand Final

  • Checkmate Format - The first player to hit 20 points AND then secure a first-place finish will be crowned the Cyber City Champion!
