Welcome tacticians, to the Magic n’ Mayhem Tactician’s Cup II. Get your best spells ready for the second tournament of the Set!

GENERAL OVERVIEW

  • WHAT: The Tactician Cups (TCups) are 3-day tournaments where 128 players compete for a spot in the EMEA Golden Spatula, Qualifier Points, and a juicy prize pool.

  • WHEN: The Tactician’s Cup II will occur on September 20-22. The first game will start at 16:00 CEST on Friday and Saturday and at 15:00 CEST on Sunday.

  • WHO: 128 tacticians who qualify through the Rank Lock #1, the First Tactician Trials and the Teamfight Tactics Regional Competitions.

  • WHERE: On the official Teamfight Tactics Twitch channel and on the official co-streamers channels. 


FORMAT EXPLAINER

On Day 1, 128 tacticians will play six rounds with a Swiss System reseed between every 2 games. After that, the field will be cut in half to 64 players.

For Day 2, they’ll play following the same format. Then, the Top 32 players will make it to day 3.

Last, Day 3 will change to Snake Seeding every 2 games and consist of 3 stages:

  1. The 32 tacticians will play 5 games with Snake Reseed between every 2 games.

  2. After that, the Top 16 players will play 1 more game without a point reset.

  3. Finally, the Top 8 tacticians will play a last game without a point reset. The player with the most points at the end of Stage 3 wins the tournament.


PRIZE POOL

First, the winner of the tournament will secure a spot in the EMEA Golden Spatula. Moreover, the top 4 tacticians of the TCup will secure a spot in the upcoming Tactician’s Cup.

Then, all the players who have played in each Tactician’s Cup will get Qualifier Points and, once the three Tactician’s Cups in Magic n’ Mayhem are over, the Top 14 Qualifier Point earners will secure their spot in the EMEA Golden Spatula. In addition, each Tactician’s Cup will have an 11,500€ prize pool for the Top 32 tacticians.

QUALIFICATION SYSTEM

The Tactician’s Cup II will be played by 128 tacticians, who’ll have gotten their spots through these paths:

  • Tactician’s Cup I. The Top 4 players in the TCup I, qualified for the Tactician’s Cup II.

  • Rank Lock. Each Rank Lock will provide 64 spots in the Tactician’s Cup (36 from EUW, 12 from EUNE, 8 from TR, 4 from RU and 4 from ME).

  • Tactician Trials. The Top 50 tacticians from the First Tactician Trials will make it to this tournament.

  • Teamfight Tactics Regional Competitions. The champion or current #1 player of each TRC will secure their spot in the Tactician’s Cup.


Qualification through TRC will take priority over qualification through the Ranked Ladder. If a tactician qualifies through both, their Ranked Ladder qualification slot will be given to the next eligible player on their ladder server.
