New TFT Workshop Mode - Tocker’s Trials
While we’ve just barely introduced the world to the Charms of Magic n’ Mayhem, our team has been brewing up one more surprise that we’re excited to share. We’re launching a new, highly-experimental PvE game mode starting in patch 14.17 on August 27, 2024—Tocker’s Trials!
Over our last 12(!) sets, we’ve tried a lot of new things with PvE rounds: from the humble Minions (or Scuttle Crabs!) at the start of each game, to some of the bolder experiments like the Threats of Monsters Attack!, and the many serious design discussions about whether or not Crab Rave should actually be as terrifying as it is. With our teams working across multiple sets well into the future, we had some time to brainstorm around entirely new ideas. The team quickly landed on PvE, and we got to work imagining & prototyping what TFT could be with only these PvE rounds, and we weren’t sure if it was something we’d even end up shipping. When the dust settled, though, we ended up with something we think is pretty dang fun, and we’re excited to share it with TFT players around the world!... for a short time, at least.
When Tocker’s Trials launches in patch 14.17, here’s what you can expect:
Magic n’ Mayhem at the Core - You’ll have access to the current set’s champion and Augment roster, and you’ll earn gold & level up similarly to how you would in a normal game, except Charms won’t be making an appearance here.
30 Rounds, 6 Bosses, 3 Lives - Things start out simple, but you'll need to put your skills to the test against boards you’d never encounter anywhere else in TFT. Your HP is also replaced with a life counter; lose 3 times, and you’re out!
Solo Queue & No Timers - It’s just you vs. the world, take all the time you need to plan out your strategy against your current foe, and choose when to start the next round when you’re good & ready.
Rack Up a High Score & Share Your Results! - As you proceed through each round, you’ll earn points based on your performance! Show off and challenge yourself & your friends to hit the highest score possible.
Chaos Mode - Once you’ve conquered normal mode, take on new twists in Chaos Mode. There’s a reason it’s called that, but we’ll leave that for you to discover on your own.
We’re so excited to share this mode, but it’s also something brand new for TFT, and again it’s quite experimental. Expect some bugs, rough edges, and less-than-perfect balance along the way—we’re just stoked to share this fun experiment with you as soon as possible! Be sure to jump in when it launches in patch 14.17 on August 27, 2024, and hit your top score before Tocker’s Trials rotates out with patch 14.19 on September 24, 2024!
