Teamfight Tactics patch 18.6
It's the Tactician's Crown Patch!
The patch where we play the biggest tournament in the set is here, but you don't have to be competing for the crown to enjoy this one. With our 18.5 mid-patch updates last week that widened the meta by nerfing the dominant strategies (Kha'Zix and Brambleback) we're looking at small buffs to the Wilds for our 4-cost lines to keep them feeling Enchanted.
Past balance changes, 18.6 has some huge changes, notably our move to a TFT standalone client, and some quality of life changes to in-game chat and more from our Follow the Fix efforts. For more details on the around-game changes to 18.6, including a small spoiler for Set 19 click it here, and for more info on Follow the Fix click here to check the site out which is still being updated each patch (note it gets updated after the patch deploys).
Onto the notes!

NEW STANDALONE CLIENT
Our standalone TFT client launches with this Patch! This initial release lays the foundation for improvements we'll roll out in 18.7 and beyond, leading up to Set 19.
With this release, there are also some changes to cosmetics coming down the line. New cosmetics that have historically been usable across both TFT & LoL—namely Little Legends & Emotes—will not be shared cross-game as a result of being developed in different engines moving forward. Full details:
Starting in Patch 19.1 with Set 19's release, you won't be able to use newly-released Little Legends as followers in ARAM. If you're currently using a Little Legend, you can still take them with you to the Howling Abyss, along with the rest of the Little Legend catalogue released before 19.1.
Starting in Patch 19.2, TFT emotes will also be split from ones acquired in League of Legends. As with Little Legends, anything released prior to that patch will still be usable across both games.

APPRECIATION MISSIONS
We know the transition to Unreal has had its bumps, and we appreciate your patience and support. To say thanks and kick off Set 19, we're introducing a series of simple missions in Patch 19.1 and additional compensation for players who have purchased cosmetic content.
- All Players:
- Play 1 game in Set 19 to earn 500 Treasure Tokens
- Play 20 games in Set 19 to earn one random Mythic Chibi
- To get specific: you'll earn a token that can be used on a new banner that contains only Mythic Chibis - no Unbound Tacticians or Mythic Little Legends.
- Players who own a Mythic Tactician or Arena before Patch 18.7 will receive 2 Mythic Medallions
- Players who own a Prestige Tactician before Patch 18.7 will receive an Unannounced Mythic Chibi
LARGE CHANGES
Large, like this patch's download size. Don't worry, future patches will return to normal size.
TRAITS
Blossom and Sprykin: Buffing the verticals here that you typically play with an Emblem so you don't feel like you need a reforger when you get a Blossom/Sprykin Emblem. For Spykin, we're also buffing the backline option as most players opt to buff their melee tank or an Emblem-toting Rengar.
Elderwood: Elderwood (9) continues to outperform our other verticals even while being Emblem and skill-dependent.
- Blossom
- AD/AP: 12/30/50/55% ⇒ 12/30/55/65%
- Elderwood
- 9 Piece HP Bonus: 25% ⇒ 10%
- Sprykin
- BFF Ranged AD/AP: 15/28/33% ⇒ 15/30/38%
UNITS: TIER 1
Kobuko and Rek'Sai: Ideally all our 1-costs have spots in various boards in the early and mid-game, but these two are often dropped from boards before we even get there. With these buffs we also expect the power floors of reroll Teemo and Veigar comps to be slightly higher as they often keep these champs around for longer.
- Kobuko
- Spell Healing (AP): 285/335/480 ⇒ 300/350/550
- Rek'Sai
- Spell Healing (AP): 10/14/20 ⇒ 10/16/24
UNITS: TIER 2
Murkwolf: Brambleback's nerf hurt this puppy's comp. And since he's never been the primary carry on reroll Ravager or Riftbeast boards, there's plenty of room to buff pup in the ruff to be worth the chase.
- Murkwolf
- Empowered Attack Damage: 65/100/160 AD ⇒ 65/100/180 AD
UNITS: TIER 4
Malphite: Malphite's getting a better AP ratio on his shield and his ability's damage. While the ability damage shouldn't be too impactful, it might allow him to actually clean up a fight if your backliners got wrapped by a rogue Brambleback that's just made it out with a sliver of health.
Nidalee: AD Nidaless dies pretty fast to Ahri/Zyra boards, so increasing her survivability should allow her to cycle through casts more effectively. A stronger third cast should help get through those pesky frontliners she gets stuck on like the cat-nip stuffed punching bags they tend to be. Nidalee's AP form has yet to really emerge as a primary carry in a comp this set. This is our bigger buff for the patch (although it's still relatively small) with buffs to her javelin attacks and a bigger one to the final javelin. Keep a look out for AP Nidalee/Juggernaut comps in lobbies near you.
Sentinel: If you're not running Malphite, you're likely running Sentinel in AP flex lines. Both are in a tough spot to play as primary tanks, so for Sentinel we're increasing the shield HP ratio making item's like Warmog's that much better.
- Malphite
- Shield: 735/885/2000 (AP) ⇒ 750/925/2000 (AP)
- Spell Damage (AP): 40/60/2000 ⇒ 100/150/2000
- Nidalee
- AD Form
- Heal: 300/450/2000 (AP) ⇒ 325/550/2000 (AP)
- Third Cast Bonus Damage: 125% ⇒ 140%
- AP Form
- Empowered Attack Damage: 185/275/2000 (AP) ⇒ 195/295/2000 (AP)
- Third Attack Damage: 330/500/3000 (AP) ⇒ 350/525/3000 (AP)
- AD Form
- Sentinel
- Shield HP Ratio: 10% ⇒ 12%
AUGMENTS
A lot of our combat Augments are strong, but Clockwork Accelerator and Plot Armor are not up to par with them.
Currently, Shopping Spree is our worst performing econ Prismatic on 2-1. Not by that much, but maybe by just one gold?
Unrivaled was hit hard by our Kha'Zix nerfs and it wasn't exactly meta before either. So we've got a real game changer of a buff for the duo here.
- Clockwork Accelerator
- AS per Proc: 10% ⇒ 12%
- Embiggen
- Bonus Pixie AD/AP: 50% ⇒ 35%
- Plot Armor
- Base Resists: 8 ⇒ 10
- Shopping Spree
- Initial Gold Granted: 6 ⇒ 7
- Unrivaled
- Rengar Heal Share: 25% ⇒ 50%
- Kha'Zix Mana Share: 50% ⇒ 70%
WISPS
Emblems, especially when you can get multiple, can become powerful albeit situational win conditions. We're increasing the cost of Emblems with the Curio Cart to make them a bit bigger of an econ trade off.
Middle Path, which provides a shop full of two-star 3-costs is a situational yet high-powered Wisp. It's either great for your comp, or not worth the click already, but when it is great, it provides too much consistency for its cost.
- Curio Cart
- Emblem Cost: 15 ⇒ 17
- Middle Path
- Cost: 4 ⇒ 5
- Upgrade Cost: 3 ⇒ 4
