TFT Set 17 Space Gods Overview

Celestial drama, galactic champions, and a whole lotta top fours to contend for. What boons will you claim from TFT's newest set, Space Gods!

Space, the final frontier… or is it? Our newest set is filled with celestial drama, galactic champions and heavenly boons.

Space Gods is our 17th update to TFT and we can’t wait to tell you all about it. Experience divine power with patch 17.1 on April 15th.

THE REALM OF THE GODS

Carousel is like, so last set. Instead of running in circles praying to hit a bow, you’ll be selecting an offering from one of two Gods that appear, and then a less powerful, generic one from Pengu.

These Gods are fickle and mercurial. They seek to be worshipped, served, and most importantly, chosen over their fellow Gods. We think you’re ready to meet them.

First up, Soraka, the God of Stars.

Soraka is here to help you with your HP. Feeling desperate about your ability to pull off lose streaking? She’s the one to pick.

Next up, Ahri, the God of Opulence.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend but econ is Ahri’s best friend. Whether you need a lil' extra gold to hit your three-stars or pushing for fast 9, she's the one you want in your corner.

Aurelion Sol, the God of Wonders isn’t an easy God to appease.

He wants you to work for his boons. But these quests will be worth it… only if you are able to complete them.

Not to be outdone by the Star Forger, Yasuo is here as the God of the Abyss, emphasis on the Abs.

Yasuo is here to empower your hexes. Be on the look out for cool combinations of units and positioning to secure your victory.

Ever the sentimental one, Varus, the God of Love wants to offer you options for your board.

3 costs, 4 costs, even 5 costs, he’s got them all. We heard he can even increase 5 cost odds?

Evelynn, the God of Temptation, can’t wait to show you what she’s got hiding under her lashers.

Risk is the name of the game here. If you’re willing to give up on things like Tactician health (who needs that) or the ability to use your shop (no biggie), she will make it worth your while.

Next up, Thresh, the God of Pacts.

Personally, we don’t think he takes this whole God thing very seriously. He loves to delegate his work. He’s offering random Boons from other Gods with a little extra gold for your troubles.

You could say Kayle, the God of Order is his foil. She knows exactly what she wants to bestow upon her followers.

It’s items. She’s a straightforward gal.

Last but not least, we have Ekko, the God of Time.

Ekko’s is bringing you a blast from the past. Units, Artifact, even temporary Scuttle Crabs? You gotta experience his favours yourself to see it all.

All God offerings will come with a component, don’t worry about missing that, plus Pengu is around to offer you a little extra treat as a reward too.

Come stage 4-7, The god you have aligned with is here to offer a Boon: an armory, similar to Treasure Dragon from Dragonlands. Even after you’ve picked your Boon, your faith will be continually rewarded as your favorite God will drop off loot periodically for the remainder of the game. They might be temperamental but at least they are generous.

Carousel might be on vacation this set, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone forever. One of the core parts of Carousel is the comeback mechanic of being able to make a choice earlier when you’re lower in HP. This aspect is sticking around in The Realm of the Gods. Pengu’s offering to you will be adjusted based on your HP in relation to other players.

We could talk about the Gods all day and night, but let’s check out what the rest of Space Gods have to offer.

ANIMA (3/5)

  • Briar 1G Rogue, Primordian

  • Jinx 2G Challenger

  • Aurora 3G Voyager

  • Ilaoi 3G Vanguard, Shepherd

  • Fiora 5G Divine Duelist, Marauder

Anima is our lose streak trait this set. After losing a player combat, gain  Tech, plus additional Tech scaling to the length of your loss streak. Additionally, gain Tech per Anima takedown.

Each time Animas get 100 Tech, they prototype new Anima Weapons. You can take them, or save your Tech to get more powerful weapons next time.

ARBITER (2/3)

  • Leona 1G Vanguard

  • Zoe 2G Channeler

  • Diana 3G Challenger

  • Leblanc 4G Shepherd

When Arbiter is active, you can subscribe to a unique divine law, allowing your arbiters to apply the chosen effect. At the higher breakpoint, effects are stronger.

DARK STAR (2/4/6/9)

  • Cho'Gath 1G Brawler

  • Lissandra 1G Shepherd, Replicator

  • Mordekaiser 2G Channeler, Vanguard

  • Kai’Sa 3G Rogue

  • Karma 4G Voyager

  • Jhin 5G, Eradicator, Sniper

Dark Stars create a black hole that consumes enemies at 10% max health. The more Dark Stars you play, the stronger they get. Prismatic Dark Star will CONSUME EVERYONE. Proceed with caution.

MECHA (3/4/6)

  • Urgot 3G Brawler, Marauder

  • Aurelion Sol 4G, Channeler

  • The Mighty Mech 4G, Voyager

Mecha units can be transformed into their ultimate form, upgrading their ability and gaining 60% Health. Transformed Mechas take up two team slots and count twice for the Mecha trait.

MEEPLE (3/5/7/10)

  • Poppy 1G Bastion

  • Veigar 1G Replicator

  • Gnar 2G Sniper

  • Meepsie 2G Shepherd, Voyager

  • Fizz 3G Rogue

  • Corki 4G Fateweaver

  • Rammus 4G Bastion

  • Bard 5G Channeler

Meeples attract Meeps that empower their abilities in meepy ways. You can play a few for increased Health, or start cloning them on your bench at (7).  At the prismatic breakpoint, you’ll be able to summon the four MeepLords!

N.O.V.A. (2/5)

  • Aatrox 1G Bastion

  • Caitlyn 1G Fateweaver

  • Akali 2G Marauder

  • Maokai 3G Brawler

  • Kindred 4G Challenger

N.O.V.A. units all have unique power surges that apply a few seconds into combat. For example, Aatrox will shred and sunder all enemies, whereas Caitlyn grants attack speed to all allies. While they are good as splash units, if you choose to invest into the N.O.V.A units, they will reward you with a Striker selector at (5), with the chosen N.O.V.A activating their Strike during the power surge.

PRIMORDIAN (2/3)

  • Briar 1G Rogue, Anima

  • Rek’Sai 1G Brawler

  • Bel’Veth 2G Challenger, Marauder

Primordians spawn Swarmlings when dealing damage or taking damage. Higher the star level, more Swarmlings! (And they drop you a random 1 or 2 cost champion at the start of every round).

PSIONIC (2/4)

  • Gragas 2G Brawler

  • Pyke 2G Voyager

  • Viktor 3G Channeler

  • Master Yi 4G Marauder

  • Sona 5G Commander, Shepherd

Psionics create psy-mods that can be equipped to any ally. At (4), if the holder is Psionic, the psy-mod gains extra effects.

SPACE GROOVE (1/3/5/7/10)

  • Nasus 1G Vanguard

  • Teemo 1G Shepherd

  • Gwen 2G Rogue

  • Ornn 3G Bastion

  • Samira 3G Sniper

  • Nami 4G Replicator

  • Blitizcrank 5G Party Animal, Vanguard

Groovians can enter the Grove as outlined by their ability. While in the Grove, they gain attack speed and health regen, increasing based on the number of Groovians active.

STARGAZER (3/5/7)

  • Talon 1G Rogue

  • Twisted Fate 1G Fateweaver

  • Jax 2G Bastion

  • Lulu 3G Replicator

  • Nunu 4G Vanguard

  • Xayah 4G Sniper

Stargazer charts a different constellation every game on your board. There are 7 different constellations for you to discover. Here’s a sneak peek:

The Serpent. Allies in the empowered hexes gain Durability. Stargazers gain more, and poison enemies, repeating a portion of the damage dealt as magic damage over 3 seconds.

TIMEBREAKER (2/3/4)

  • Ezreal 1G Sniper

  • Milio 2G Fateweaver

  • Pantheon 2G Brawler, Replicator

  • Riven 4G Rogue

Timebreaker can help you hit your reroll comps, or go fast 9 if that’s more your speed. At (2), gain free rerolls when you lose or xp when you win. At higher breakpoints, gain attack speed.

SHEPHERD (3/5/7)

  • Lissandra 1G Dark Star, Replicator

  • Teemo 1G Space Groove

  • Meepsie 2G Meeple, Voyager

  • Illaoi 3G Anima, Vanguard

  • Leblanc 4G Arbiter

  • Sona 5G Commander, Psionic

Shepherd is our summoning trait of this set. Using the Bond of the Stars, you can summon Bia and Bayin through Shepherds. More star levels of Shepherd increases Bia and Bayin’s power.

This is all just a brief rundown of some of the content coming your way with TFT’s 17th set. We got new Augments, cool 5-costs, and more to accompany you on the journey to the stars. Come experience it all on April 15th when Space Gods is live with patch 17.1.
