4v4 arrives to Compete TFT

Climb the ladder, draft your team, play 4v4. Tactician’s Superbrawl arrives this November.

Yes, you read that right. The 4v4 format is coming back and it’s open to all players in AMER, EMEA, and APAC. Tactician’s Superbrawl is a team tournament running November 6th to 8th. EMEA players might remember the name from Rising Legends, where Superbrawl ran as a community event. This time it's part of our official esports circuit!

Built for players looking to join the official competitive ecosystem, the tournament will offer qualification opportunities for Set 19 Tactician's Trials. All four members of a winning team earn their spot, though Trials is always played solo, so there's no 4v4 format there. TPC players may be drafted onto teams, with a maximum of two per roster, but they are not eligible to qualify for Set 19 Tactician's Trials through this event.

Why we're doing this

Players that compete in Tactician’s Trials have been telling us the season ends too early, and they're right. Tactician’s Superbrawl extends it by around three weeks and gives late season ladder play something concrete to aim at, whether you started grinding in August or picked things up in October. November has something on it now.

It's also a format the community has been playing on its own for a long time. Bringing 4v4 into official competition recognizes that, and it adds a competitive space that works differently from anything else on the calendar. You pick your teammates, you represent your region, and you build something together in this new format.

Teams of Four, Built from the Ladder

Tactician’s Superbrawl will consist of 96 teams per region competing in a single elimination best-of-3 bracket. Players can qualify in two ways:

  1. Ladder snapshot on Monday, November 2 at 12pm PT / CET / UTC
  2. Winning team of a Sub-Regional 4v4 Qualifier

To earn a captain slot, finish at the top of your server’s snapshot. Captains will then draft three teammates from the eligible pool, which runs a lot deeper into the ladder than the captain slots do. TPC players are eligible to be drafted assuming they answer your messages... Two per team, maximum.

*Set 18 TPC players may be drafted onto teams, with a maximum of two per roster, but they can't qualify for Set 19 Trials through this event*

Captain slots and pool sizes vary by region and server. Check the breakdowns below!

Regional Qualification Process

Each non-TPC player on the top two teams in each region will earn a spot in Day 3 of Tactician's Trials #2 next set, which means your Tactician's Superbrawl run carries straight into Set 19.

There's prize money on the line as well. We'll share the full breakdown closer to the event.

What happens next

Bracket structure, prizing, and the details on how captains draft their teams will come closer to the event, along with more on the grassroots and Country's tournaments pathways. Between now and then, one thing matters: make sure you're climbing on the server you want to compete from.
