The Into the Arcane Tactician's Crown is almost here, happening from March 14-16! The glorious weekend will showcase the best of the best strategies and give viewers the chance to witness the final act of the season.

The competition will showcase the world’s top 40 players, with only one walking away with the Tactician’s Crown, a $150K grand prize, and the title of Into the Arcane Champion! Stay tuned during the Grand Final on March 16 for the unveiling of the next Set.

Format

Here’s a quick refresher on the competition format of the Into the Arcane Tactician’s Crown:

Points will be awarded for each player based on the results of each game: 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 (ie: first place wins 8 points, eighth place wins 1 point).  

Day 1

  • 40 players will be drawn into their 5 starting lobbies and play 6 games total

  • The lobbies will shuffle after every 2 games

  • After Game 6, the top 32 players will advance to Day 2, and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

Day 2

  • Players retain their points from Day 1

  • 32 players will be split into 4 lobbies and play 2 games

  • After Game 2, the top 24 players will advance and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

  • 24 players will be split into 3 lobbies and play 2 games

  • After Game 4, the top 16 players will advance and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

  • 16 players will be split into 2 lobbies and play 3 games

  • The lobbies will shuffle after 2 games

  • After Game 7, the top 8 players will advance to the Grand Final

Grand Final

  • Checkmate Format - The first player to hit 20 points AND then secure a first-place finish will be crowned Into the Arcane Champion!
