TFT Paris Open: Everything You Need to Know
The TFT Paris Open is almost here! Our first-ever Open in Europe is heading to the French capital from December 12–14 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
This will be our biggest Open yet, bringing together more than 750 competitors from around the world to battle for the Tactician’s Belt, and a $100,000 grand prize.
But the Paris Open isn’t just about competition – it’s a celebration of the TFT Community. Alongside the main event, players and fans can dive into:
Side Events, including the 4v4 Competitor Tournament and On-Demand Matches.
An immersive TFT experience, featuring an Artist Alley, Lore & Legends set cosplayers, co-streamer watch-alongs, community meet & greets, and of course, photo ops with Pengu and Choncc.
Whether you’re competing, co-streaming, or just coming to vibe with fellow Tacticians, the Paris Open is your chance to experience TFT at its most brilliant.
Now, let’s take a closer look at everything we have in store for you in la cité de l'amour.
Competition Information
Competitors, prepare yourselves! Whether you’re chasing the Tactician’s Belt or just here to test your skills, there’s a way for every TFT fan to jump into the action. We’ll have three ways to play, with each designed to bring players together and celebrate the strategy and chaos that make TFT so special.
Main Event Format
We’re going bigger than ever at the TFT Paris Open, with 768 spots in the Main Event open to competitors. Players will compete on Lore & Legends, which will launch shortly before the event kicks off. The seeding, point system, and format can be found below.
Seeding
Players will initially be seeded based on their K.O. Coliseum ranking. After Round 1, players will be seeded via snake draft based upon the points they earn throughout the tournament.
Point System
Throughout the tournament, points will be awarded to each player based on the results of each game: 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 (i.e, first place wins 8 points, eighth place wins 1 point).
Schedule
The Main Event will be a 768 player competition with a total of five rounds across 3 days. Players will be split into pools of 8 players prior to each round. Players will advance based upon the points they earn throughout each round:
Day 1 Format
- 768 players are divided into three groups of 256 (32 lobbies each).
- Each group plays 4 games, with initial lobby seeding based on K.O. Coliseum ranking.
- After 4 games:
- Top 2 players per lobby (192 total) advance to Round 2.
- Next 64 highest scorers across all lobbies also advance (total 256).
- Bottom 512 are eliminated.
- After 4 games:
- Points reset after each round and are only used for tie-breaking.
Day 2 Format
- Round 2 (256 players) → 3 games → Top 4 per lobby advance (128 total).
- Round 3 (128 players) → 3 games → Top 4 per lobby advance (64 total).
- Round 4 (64 players) → 8 lobbies, checkmate format:
- A player reaching 20 points puts the lobby in check.
- To win, that player must win a game while in check.
- Multiple players can be in check simultaneously.
- If no one wins after 6 games, the highest total points wins.
- 8 Checkmate winners advance to Day 3 (Final Lobby).
- Remaining players are ranked by Day 2 checkmate points.
Day 3 Format
- 8 finalists compete in a checkmate format:
- Reaching 20 points puts others in check.
- Players with 20+ points must then win a game to secure the championship.
- If no player wins after 8 games, the player with the highest total points wins.
- Final standings are based on Day 3 points.
