Revival: Remix Rumble Updates

New Augments, Opening Encounters, and more mix things up for Revival: Remix Rumble!

From patch 14.4 (May 14th) to July 29th, Remix Rumble returns with a couple of updates to mix things up for longtime fans and new DJs alike! The Revival brings back your favorite music festival lineup with K/DA, True Damage, Pentakill, Heartsteel, DJ Sona, Maestro Jhin, and Jazz Bard (<3) alongside the Headliner mechanic and a music mixing system that’ll have you mixing your track as you build your comp!

The Revival brings a couple of changes that we’ll talk about with the rest of this piece, but for an overview of the set, you can check out the Remix Rumble Dev Drop and gameplay article that was released back when the set first went live. Alright, onto the new rules for the Revival!

Headliner Set Mechanic

In case you missed Remix Rumble’s debut, the set mechanic, Headliner, allowed 2-star copies of a Champion to be purchased from the shop with an additional plus one to one of their traits, and a unique Headliner bonus. Headliners appear in every shop when you don’t have a Headliner and if you already have one, you’ll continue to see new Headliners every four shops.  So if you want to pivot, just sell your current Headliner and pick up a new one. Headliners will take three copies of a unit from the pool. There are no restrictions based on how many units players already own for 1- to 3-cost Headliners, except for bag size. For 4 and 5-cost units, Headliners will not appear in the shop if a player already has four or more copies of that unit.

Bag Size Adjustments

With past Revivals, we’ve been exploring just how many copies of each unit (bag sizes) are needed to strike a balance between pursuing whatever team comps you want out regardless of being contested and making sure each lobby feels distinct with a variety of comps in each lobby. With our Festival of Beasts Revival most recently, we over-indexed on giving players easy access to forcing comps, with bag sizes being personal (no shared pool, hence, no true drafting), so with Revival: Remix Rumble we’re returning to a shared pool with increased bag sizes for our reroll champions (1- through 3-costs), allowing you to more easily play a comp even when contested. Here’s a breakdown on the bag sizes:

  • 1-costs: 50 copies

  • 2-costs: 40 copies

  • 3-costs: 30 copies

  • 4-costs: 12 copies

  • 5-costs: 10 copies

In addition to a few new Augments, Cyber City is having an effect on Revival: Remix Rumble! Expect to see a few Augment Hacks from Opening Encounters and Augment rounds, such as the Black Market Hack.

Opening Encounters

We’re updating our standard Opening Encounters to fit the Remix Rumble vibes. Prismatic games will be brought to you by the Maestro, Jhin, Bard will bring in the Trainer Sentinel, and more. We’ll also have some Hacked Opening Encounters and Opening Encounters specific to the Revival. Let’s check those ones out in a bit—jk, let’s do it now:
