NEW RANKED SEASON UPDATES

The Ranked Ladder is open and ready for all. With it, an increase in Challenger and Grandmaster slots for some regions.

  • When Space Gods goes live in your region, or after you download the latest mobile patch, you can start climbing
  • Depending on your rank in the previous set, you will start anywhere from Iron II to Silver IV. This is true for both Double Up and Standard ranked
  • You will get 5 provisional matches after the reset, meaning you will not lose any LP for bottom 4 placements in your first 5 ranked games of the new stage. You'll also gain extra LP for finishing top 4, so best of luck!
  • Note that there's still a 24h period of delay between mobile and PC going live
  • During that time, Mobile players who have not yet gotten the new set in their region won't be able to climb the ladder on the old set
  • Grandmaster and Challenger slot increase:
    • Brazil: Grandmaster: 100 > 150, Challenger: 50 > 75
    • Latin America: Grandmaster: 60 > 80, Challenger: 30 > 40
    • Vietnam: Grandmaster: 900 > 1200, Challenger: 450 > 600
    • EUW: Grandmaster: 400 > 600, Challenger: 200 > 300
    • Singapore: Grandmaster: 100 > 200, Challenger: 50 > 100
    • Japan: Grandmaster: 100 > 150, Challenger: 50 > 75

SYSTEMS

SET MECHANIC: THE REALM OF THE GODS

We will cover the core mechanics of The Realm of the Gods here. For a detailed deep dive into who the Gods are and what they offer, check out our Space Gods Overview.

  • Replacing the Carousel, The Realm of the Gods offers you two gods to choose an offering from, then a less powerful, generic one from Pengu. All God offerings will come with a component.
  • If you’re lower in the standing, HP wise, Pengu will offer you higher cost units and you will receive component anvils instead of random components during PvE.
  • On 4-7, the god you have aligned with will offer you a Boon in the form of an armory. That god will continue to periodically drop off loot for the remainder of the game.

SHOP ODDS:

  • Level 7: 16/30/43/10/1% 19/30/40/10/1%

LOOT SYSTEM

We’re adjusting the loots offered at 3-7 to adjust for the additional loots offered by the God Blessing round.

  • The number of components dropped on Stage 3-7 has been reduced by 1.
  • Stage 4-7 has been replaced by a special God Blessing round that will grant 1-3 components.

TARGETING AND MOVEMENT

Tired of your Carry chasing down Singed? We’ve improved targeting to ensure your damage dealers are staying on track. Also, there’s no Singed this set.

  • When a champion’s current target leaves their Attack Range, they will search for another target within range before moving up to 1-hex to follow the initial target.

SURRENDERING

In the past, when your opponent surrendered, it would delete their board, causing the fight to be over instantly which had significant impact for players looking to lose streak, and affected final standings in lobbies. Starting in Space Gods, even when a player surrenders, their fight will continue to play out instead of instantly ending. Their placement will also be below other players regardless of the combat outcome.

  • When players surrender during Planning or Combat, combat will continue normally rather than instantly ending.
  • Players who surrender will be set to -99 player health, placing below other players regardless of combat outcome.

KEYWORDS

We’re tweaking some keywords used in TFT to make it clearer what the intended effect is.

  • Attack Speed slows have been renamed from “Chill” to “Slow”
  • Enemy damage reduction has been renamed from “Dazzle” to “Weaken”
  • “Spells can critically strike” has been replaced with the keyword “Precision”
  • Precision: Ability damage can critically strike. Additional Precision grants 10% Damage Amp (this can stack with multiple sources of Precision)

ON-HIT EFFECTIVENESS

  • Champions that have reduced attack effectiveness also have their on-hit effects reduced by the same amount (Wit’s End, Titanic Hydra, etc). Example: Xayah’s ricochets that deal 60% damage, also apply on-hits at 60% effectiveness.

FOUR-STAR UNITS

  • Four-star Ability Damage Scaling: 1.33x of 3-star value 1.7x of 3-star value

ENCOUNTERS

We know that some players have been missing Encounters in Space Gods on PBE and the variance they bring to each game beyond the Gods themselves. While you won't encounter any Encounters during the first patch of the new set, they'll be returning in our next patch.

  • Encounters are coming in patch 17.2

LARGE CHANGES

Large, like our Gods’ personalities.

3RD PARTY FRIENDS

There’s always so much to cover with a new set! Good thing we have plenty of friends who’re more than willing to lend a helping hand with things like comp guides, pretty cheat sheets, and more!

ITEMS

For as long as the Space Gods have existed (forever), TFT’s meta has largely been about itemizing one super-duper-unkillable tank, one perfectly itemized damage carry, and another decently itemized damage carry. With Space Gods, we’re changing this. By reducing the power of our go-to tank items, we’re reducing their multiplicative value that helped to create the super-tank scenario. In turn, we expect players to adapt their boards to no longer default to a solo-front line super tank in favor of a few more less-super but still tanky tanks.
