Into the Arcane Tactician’s Crown Announcement

Details on event dates, format, prize pool, and more.

In December, we witnessed over 500 competitors at the TFT Macao Open, unveiling the endless possibilities Into the Arcane held for players. Now, it’s time for the top 40 players from around the world to rise and prove who is the true master of the set. Don’t miss your chance to witness the final act at the Into the Arcane Tactician’s Crown, where one player will secure their place in history.

Tactician’s Crown Info

The Into the Arcane Tactician’s Crown will take place March 14-16, bringing together the top 40 players from our 4 pan-regions.

Seeds:

Based on the results of the Magic n’ Mayhem Tactician’s Crown, here are the number of Seeds per Pan-Region:

  • APAC
    • 12 players

    • +1 for TC Winner, +1 for Regional Performance

  • CN
    • 10 players

  • AMER
    • 9 players

    • +1 for Regional Performance

  • EMEA
    • 9 players

    • +1 for Regional Performance

  • Total: 40 players will be competing at the next Tactician’s Crown

After three days of competition, one player will take home the Tactician’s Crown, $150K USD, and become the Into the Arcane Champion.

Prize Pool

Players will be competing for their share of the $470K USD total prize pool. Check out the breakdown below:

Event Format

Points

Points earned throughout the event will be awarded for each player based on the results of each game: 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 (ie: first place wins 8 points, eighth place wins 1 point).

Starting Lobbies

The top 40 players will be split into starting lobbies based on a snake draft selection process which was introduced in the Magic n’ Mayhem Tactician’s Crown. For full details on starting lobbies, check out our previous article here.

Event Schedule

Day 1

  • 40 players will be drawn into their 5 starting lobbies and play 6 games total

  • The lobbies will shuffle after every 2 games

  • After Game 6, the top 32 players will advance to Day 2, and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

Day 2

  • Players retain their points from Day 1

  • 32 players will be split into 4 lobbies and play 2 games

  • After Game 2, the top 24 players will advance and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

  • 24 players will be split into 3 lobbies and play 2 games

  • After Game 4, the top 16 players will advance and the bottom 8 players will be eliminated

  • 16 players will be split into 2 lobbies and play 3 games

  • The lobbies will shuffle after 2 games

  • After Game 7, the top 8 players will advance to the Grand Final

Grand Final

  • Checkmate Format - The first player to hit 20 points AND then secure a first-place finish will be crowned the Into the Arcane Champion!

Upcoming Updates for Set 14+

Starting with Set 14, we’ll be updating the process for how regional performance slots will be determined for future Tactician’s Crown events. The total points of the top 4 players from each pan-region after Day 2 will be compared to determine which three regions will receive an additional slot for the following set’s Tactician’s Crown.
