TL;DW: Follow The Fix Update

We’ve got work to do. Follow that work as we get TFT back to the standard you expect.

Hey Tacticians, in case you want the rundown on Follow the Fix without watching the full video, we’ve got a quick TL;DW. But if you have the time, you can always catch the full video here.

  • We knew TFT wouldn’t feel the same right away when we moved to Unreal, but it felt worse than we had expected, due to performance and bugs. That was never our intention, and we’re sorry.
  • We moved TFT to Unreal because we want to keep building this game for a very long time. We were reaching limits in our old engine, and in some cases building the same experience twice: once for PC and once for mobile.
  • While we delayed our transition, moving Enchanted Wilds back one set, and then again delaying PBE, we ultimately shipped to live knowing that players were ready for something new, and we didn’t have another Set in the old engine waiting to go, so we made the call to launch Enchanted Wilds.
  • What released was a TFT that just felt worse: missing cosmetics, delayed interactions with the shop, dropping frames, and other bugs/crashes.
  • We’ve made a ton of progress the past few patches, but there’s still a lot to do, so starting today, you can stay updated on the Follow the Fix effort to see the major areas we’re focused on, what we’ve fixed, what we’re still investigating, and what we’re working on next.
  • The Follow the Fix site won’t be a list of every bug in TFT. Instead, we’re going to focus on the things that have the biggest impact on how the game feels: crashes and performance, input responsiveness, champion movement and targeting, pings, repositioning, mobile responsiveness, visual clarity, cosmetics, and more. If you’re looking for info on patch-to-patch bugs specifically relating to Enchanted Wilds gameplay bugfixes, stay tuned to the patch notes.
  • We still believe moving TFT to Unreal was the right long-term decision, and while we didn’t get all the decisions right along the way, ultimately we’re optimistic about the foundations and support Unreal provides for years to come.
  • There’s a lot of work ahead of us, but we believe in where TFT is going, and we still believe our best Sets are ahead of us. So thanks for sticking with us and be sure to follow the fix.
